About this recipe:
I make this for a Sunday pudding during autumn and winter, and vary the nuts and dried fruits that I use. Serve with custard or over vanilla ice cream.
6 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
100g (4 oz) demerara sugar
3 tablespoons plain flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
100g (4 oz) sultanas
60g (2 oz) chopped walnuts
110ml (4 fl oz) whole milk
- Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4. Grease a 2 litre casserole dish with butter.
- Place apples in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix together sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
- Stir mixture into apples and combine thoroughly. Add sultanas and walnuts. Spoon into prepared dish. Pour milk evenly over apple mixture.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until soft and bubbly. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Love it, now make it regularly. Use slightly less sugar
