A little late in the year to make this with fresh berries, but it does work just as well with frozen if you have any stashed away. The colour is a really deep purple and it tastes great. This would make an ideal homemade Christmas present.

I was just wondering why the actual juice of the blackberries is not used in this recipe? I make sloe gin, elderberry wine etc. and with these the fruit is always 'damaged' in some way to release the juice then the resulting solids are removed by straining before bottling. - 01 Oct 2013
First time I made this and its fantastic! So easy too! Used Morrisons cheapest vodka and it was still lovely. Using the soaked blackberries for a sorbet now. - 07 Sep 2013
Just made this and bottled it, had a small taste at bottling stage just to check it was ok! Tastes fantastic and that's before the second stage of the recipe. Like the previous reviewer I used a 'cheap' bottle of vodka and I'm really pleased with results so far. Definitely one to try. - 10 Sep 2013
