    Serves: 4

    • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    • 1 large onion, finely chopped
    • 500g steak mince
    • 6 rashers smoked back bacon, chopped
    • 175ml red wine
    • 1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
    • 5 sticks celery, chopped
    • 1 beef stock cube
    • 2 bay leaves
    • 1 small bunch fresh oregano
    • 1 small bunch fresh basil

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:50min

    1. Brown the mince with the garlic and onion in a little water, then add the bacon.
    2. Add the red wine, chopped tomatoes, celery and beef stock cube.
    3. Finally add the bay leaves, oregano and basil, bring to the boil then simmer for about 40 minutes.

Adjust the ingredients according to taste, I prefer to use more garlic, just because I love it and some time add an extra half stock cube, serve with spaghetti.

Has to be the Best bolognese I hAve ever made. They all loved it. I made penneys instead and turned it into a pasta. Ake but the theory is the same. I also sauté some mushrooms, and carrots along with celery and blitzed it a bit to get some extra veggies into them on the sly. Brilliant  -  27 Jun 2016
