    About this recipe: You will need a Christmas stocking cutter. (If you can't find one, substitute stockings for maybe stars or snowmen).

    Makes: 24 biscuits

    • 250g soft butter
    • 125g icing sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 280g plain flour
    • 4 tablespoons cornflour

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Line 2 baking trays with baking parchment.
    2. Beat butter with icing sugar and vanilla until pale and creamy. Sift the flour and cornflour over the butter mixture. Stir to form a dough. Chill for 30 minutes in the fridge.
    3. Roll out dough until 4mm thick. Cut out your stockings and place them on the prepared trays.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes until pale golden. Cool on a wire rack.
    5. When cool mix a some icing sugar with a little water and divide into a few bowls. Add a few drops of different colouring to each bowl. Decorate your stockings with the coloured icing. Leave to set. ENJOY!!
