    45 min

Fresh tuna steaks are always delicious when barbecued. You can add a little cayenne pepper or minced ginger to the marinade to give it an extra kick.

    Serves: 4

    • 225ml (8 fl oz) teriyaki sauce
    • 180ml (6 fl oz) olive oil

    1. In a large resealable freezer bag, combine the teriyaki sauce, oil, garlic and pepper. Place the tuna in the bag. Seal the bag with as little air in it as possible. Give the bag a good shake to coat the tuna fillets. Marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge.
    2. Meanwhile, preheat the barbecue for high heat and lightly oil the cooking grate.
    3. Remove tuna from marinade, and place on barbecue. Cook to desired doneness.

Allow 30 minutes for the tuna to marinate.

Great Ahi recipe. Taste just the way Mom use to make. I too, seared on a pan rather than the grill. Wonderful dish, will definitely make again.  -  13 Jul 2004  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. LOVE THIS. Was able to grill tuna to perfection - boiled the marinade down and put a small amount on top before serving and it was delicious. Will definitely make again.  -  06 Jun 2006  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
