  • 285ml (10 fl oz) warm water
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 400g (14 oz) bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons dried milk powder
  • 1 (7g) sachet dried active baking yeast

Like others slumped towards the end and seems 'wet' in the middle. Will give it another try with less water and yeast.

I baked this loaf and it looked great but at the last minute the loaf sank and I ended up with about half a loaf it was still good, but I dont know where I went wrong I followed all the instuctions can anyone please help

The direction to add ingredients in the order recommended by the machine manufacturer is unhelpful. If I had the manufacturer's instructions, I wouldn't be looking for recipes on the internet.

Made this a few times now but found that a full sachet of yeast is too much, the loaf rose til it stuck to the glass in my breadmaker! Reduced yeast to 6g and it turns out much more like the description. Either way, it tastes lovely!

Purchased a 2nd hand bread maker yesterday. No manual or recipe cards with it A bit of surfing and I found this site Tried this recipe, and it is fantastic. Bread looks and taste great. Will do again.

Moderately easy
I ended up baking the dough in a pyrex bowl in the oven - I wasn't expecting it to be so light and fluffy. But it still worked brilliantly and tastes great

Used different ingredients. I used sunflower oil instead of butter.The best recipe I've used so far, much better than any in the instruction manuel.
