    About this recipe: A wholesome stew featuring chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms and a variety of vegetables. Feel free to replace the chicken stock to any other stock you prefer.

    Serves: 6 

    • 550g cooked chicken breast meat, cut into chunks
    • 50g mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 onion, chopped, sauteed in butter
    • 200g carrots, chopped
    • 1.5 litres chicken stock
    • 1 teaspoon dried sage
    • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
    • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
    • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
    • 285g frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
    • 500g cooked red potatoes, diced
    • 60g celery, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons plain flour

    1. Combine chicken, mushrooms, onion, carrots and stock in a large saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until carrots are tender, about 10 minutes.
    2. Stir in sage, basil, garlic salt, parsley, mixed vegetables, potatoes and celery and cook until heated through. Stir in flour to thicken sauce, then serve.
