About this recipe:This stew takes very little preparation time. The recipe calls for minced beef, onion, tomatoes and mixed vegetables to be slow cooked. Serve with a crusty bread roll.
450g minced beef
1 medium onion, chopped
850ml pasta sauce
450g frozen mixed vegetables
285g chopped tomatoes with chillies (from a tin)
125g celery, sliced
1 beef stock cube
1 teaspoon pepper

In a frying pan over medium heat, cook beef and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain. Transfer to a slow cooker. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the vegetables are tender.
I did not have tomatoes and chilli but I did have Loyd Grossman Pasta Sauce with chilli so used that. I added some cubed potatoes with a dollop of caramelised onions and finished off with dumplings!!! The whole dish was gorgeous and we both loved it. - 11 Nov 2010
Pretty much how i made it although i had to thicken it a little bit at the end.....great with bread! (And it made enough to give a couple of portions to a friend to try and a few portions to freeze) - 24 Jan 2016
