Sausage and Bean Pie

    A simple but tasty filling pie for those cold evenings. It's good served with veg and roast potatoes, mmmm!

    Serves: 5 

    • 1 packet puff pastry
    • 1 roll of sausage meat
    • 2 tins of baked beans
    • sprinkle of garlic

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:55min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5. Roll puff pastry out to cover base of tin. Keep left over pastry for the lattice top.
    2. Spread sausage meat over pastry base and sprinkle over garlic or any other herbs you wish. Pour in 2 tins of beans.
    3. Roll out left over pastry. Cut strips to go over top of pie, brush with milk and place in oven until cooked and golden brown (about 40 - 45 minutes).

    Something else. I added some grated cheese on top of the beans before adding the pastry strips.  -  03 Apr 2010


    Altered ingredient amounts. i used sausage squares easy to just place on pastry and chopped and fried some smoked bacon and scattered over the beans then covered with cheese before putting on the strips of pastry yummy also will leave out the garlic next time  -  30 Jun 2010
