This is quite possibly the poshest jacket potato i've ever tried, and certainly the most delicious!

An authentic Scotch broth recipe using the authentic lamb, rather than beef which you often see today. You can use beef if you prefer, though I adore the lamb.

This recipe is just thrown together but it is really nice. I was a bit sceptical at first because I'm not a mustard lover and even though you can taste it, it's not overpowering it does just blend in with everything else. My kids love em.

This is a quick and simple recipe - great for using up bolognese leftovers and they freeze and reheat really well! Allow one sheet of pastry for 4 mini-pasties.

Take your leftover roast turkey and turn it into this delicious warming pie. Using Christmas dinner leftovers, this recipe couldn't be easier!

An excellent hearty and warming family meal. Can be mildly mouthwatering or hot as you dare. It can also be varied ever so slightly by trying different flavoured corn chips/tortilla chips. Try zingy lime or fragrant chilli varieties to suit your own tastes. I have seen chilli lasagna recipes before but always using pasta sheets which doesn't feel very Mexican to me. Serve with a crisp cooling salad dressed with mint, cucumber, yoghurt or soured cream.

Perfect on a chilly autumn evening...it's been in my family for years. The cinnamon may be a surprise ingredient, but it adds a good rich flavour.

This is the easiest dish to make and always look GREAT! You can use any cheese u like although I find feta really suits the dish. It's very easy to adapt and is a good way to use up any veg that you may have lying around - Goes well with roast spuds or rice.

Daft name, I know. I asked my granny (a retired chef) what they actually were and she said they were a kind of truffle (the choccy sweet, not the fungus). I looked up truffles and they are made from cream, sugar and grated chocolate. They are NOTHING like these. I guess Granny was bluffing. So I am going to stick to the daft name above until someone has a better suggestion.

Comfort food, pure and simple, using storecupboard ingredients. Serve with fried egg and grilled tomato for a hearty breakfast or brunch, or on its own with some green veg for supper.
