One of my favourite dishes when I head back home; it combines hard-boiled eggs with the subtle flavour of anise and the deep brown hues of black tea and soy. The cracked patterns from the broken shells make these quite attractive! I eat these sliced in quarters and chilled as a side dish, starter or snack. Recipe courtesy of Mum.

These pasta-like dumplings are cooked quickly in boiling water. Delicious with a creamy white sauce. These can be frozen after cooking.

Matzo and egg fried together. This traditional dish is great anytime, but everyone really looks forward to Matzo Brei during Passover! Serve with sugar sprinkled on top or with jam.

My mother would always cook extra mash so we could have these delicious croquettes the next day. Over the years I have experimented with her basic recipe and sometimes will add grated Cheddar, chopped spring onions or bacon to the mixture.

A delicious stuffing featuring mushrooms, apples and herbs. This recipe will stuff a 5kg (12 lb) turkey.

This delicious recipe comes from my gran. It may be cooked as directed, or inside the turkey. It's enough to stuff a very large bird. Note that you should allow 24 hours for the bread to dry out before making.

After making many, many batches of matzo balls for my friends, I perfected the recipe and am sharing it here. They're always a welcome treat.
