Choose large oranges that are heavy for their size; they are the juiciest.

A sirloin steak cooked to perfection on the barbecue and then brushed with a garlic-butter sauce. Such a simple recipe, but guaranteed to melt in your mouth.

A change in proportions is the secret here. Cook a generous serving of vegetables on the barbecue alongside steaks to create a nutritionally balanced meal. For best results, the meat needs to marinate for at least 2 hours.

Asian inspired flavours with a French technique give this dish it's own uniqueness. It's easy to make as well!

Beef Wellington should always be served with the centre slightly pink. Enjoy!

Black Sheep Ale reminds me of walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks last year. They serve 'Black Sheep Pie' along the route and I thought… I can do that. Well maybe anyway. You can do it with any other ale too I suppose, and I used to do something similar with Guinness, but found that it’s got a slightly more bitter aftertaste to it than the Black Sheep.

A succulent and flavourful steak as good as the ones you find in restaurants. Serve with sautéed mushrooms and garlic mash.

This mouthwatering roast beef features a Bloody Mary glaze and is served with oven roasted cherry tomatoes and a Bloody Mary salsa.

An excellent hearty and warming family meal. Can be mildly mouthwatering or hot as you dare. It can also be varied ever so slightly by trying different flavoured corn chips/tortilla chips. Try zingy lime or fragrant chilli varieties to suit your own tastes. I have seen chilli lasagna recipes before but always using pasta sheets which doesn't feel very Mexican to me. Serve with a crisp cooling salad dressed with mint, cucumber, yoghurt or soured cream.

This was my mother's signature recipe. Simple, but classic - you can't go wrong. Slice it lengthwise, very thinly. Leftovers are delicious cold for sandwiches with wholegrain mustard.

Onions and mushrooms are natural partners for tender beef steaks, and instead of deep-fried chips, char-grilled new potatoes make a healthier alternative. Serve with relishes and a big green salad.

As a goalkeeper for a top UK soccer team, I revel in my nickname as the "pie man". This is my favourite post match pie. Enjoy with a pint of scrumpy.

Serve these classy burgers with a rich layer of blue cheese sandwiched between two rounds of mince at your next big party for an easy, delicious main dish.

Extra-lean burgers, with capers, anchovies and sun-dried tomatoes added for extra flavour, become a gourmet treat when served with sizzling tender artichoke hearts. Try serving with lightly toasted rolls or new potatoes, and a green salad.

Sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and herbs create a Mediterranean flavour, and a fresh chilli and tomato salsa adds extra zip. Making your own burgers is so worthwhile, as they're much lower in fat than most ready-made burgers, and you can flavour them as you please.

Pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes and fresh basil transform ordinary beef or pork burgers into a Mediterranean delight. Serve with a pepper, onion and olive salad, or grilled corn on the cob and toasted chunks of ciabatta for a satisfying summer meal.

A great rendition of the old-fashioned filling that's normally steamed in a pudding. This is my version which has tomato passata and red wine in it, which gives it a fantastic flavour. If you can't find it pre-packed, ask your local butcher for a mix of steak and kidney.

This is a deliciously rich, savoury pie. You can simply use white mushrooms or re-hydrate some dried wild mushrooms but I like the flavour combination of crimini, portobello and oyster mushrooms. Use supermarket ready rolled pastry - it's so much easier!

The sweet chilli sauce in this recipe isn't overpowering but gives a subtle flavour. If a hotter flavour is required, I like to add crushed chilli flakes for a kick.

Thai flavours combine to make one phenomenal steak! It's great with grilled vegetables, and perfect for salads and sandwiches.
