A classic American salad dressing. Use Danish blue, Gorgonzola or Roquefort. Serve over a crisp green salad.

Apple purée and cinnamon add a sweet and moist variation to the classic batter of milk, eggs and sugar. An unusual but delicious idea for kid's brunch or Christmas morning, especially if you substitute brioche for the bread.

This is a basic fruit muffin recipe. I use chopped apples, but any type of fruit may be added to make a quick and easy batch of fruit muffins.

Once you see how easy it is so make this bread in your bread machine, you won't buy it at the store anymore!

Blue Cheese dressing has many uses. It can be served with vegetable sticks or as a dip for other starters, like chicken wings. And it's gorgeous on a crisp green salad with garlic croutons, cherry tomatoes and chicken breast fillets.

Compared to most cheesecake recipes, this version isn’t particularly high in fat, as it uses cottage and curd cheeses instead of the traditional cream cheese, and is lightened by folding in whisked egg whites before baking. The delectable filling is set atop a crunchy digestive biscuit and oat base.

These healthy wraps flavoured with goat's cheese, rocket and dill spread make great light lunches, portable feasts and super-quick suppers. They will keep for a week or two, and can also be frozen.

An excellent hearty and warming family meal. Can be mildly mouthwatering or hot as you dare. It can also be varied ever so slightly by trying different flavoured corn chips/tortilla chips. Try zingy lime or fragrant chilli varieties to suit your own tastes. I have seen chilli lasagna recipes before but always using pasta sheets which doesn't feel very Mexican to me. Serve with a crisp cooling salad dressed with mint, cucumber, yoghurt or soured cream.

Banana muffins make a healthy snack for children after school. They are so easy to make and freeze well too. So, make these instead of throwing away those brown bananas!

It is speculated that this North American Christmas tradition actually originated in England as a long lost cousin of posset. Serve this luscious combination of milk, cream, eggs and nutmeg with a measure of rum or brandy if desired.

This family tradition involved even the kids at New Year's Eve. They got to help make it even if they didn't get to drink it. The beauty of this recipe is that every ingredient is one measure, which makes it easy to remember.

This New York cheesecake recipe rivals the best! It uses amaretto instead of a lemon flavour and is VERY rich. It has no biscuit base to compete with its decadent flavour. Serves 16 lucky people and is best served with fresh sliced fruit or berries and fresh whipped cream.

Only use fresh fruit for this recipe. I usually use ripe peaches and lightly sugared berries, but any variation will work! Serve warm with ice cream, custard or whipped cream.

This recipe is rich and delicious. Use fresh lobster and serve hot, over buttered toast slices. An elegant starter for a dinner party.

This version of the North American Christmas tradition actually cooks the eggs. Mixed with rum, this is a great Christmas party tipple.

To keep this soup healthily low in calories and fat, it is thickened with puréed vegetables. The bacon is optional but it adds a little flavour.

Perfect for summer, this quick and easy cheesecake is delicious and doesn't require the oven. The crumbly base is a mix of digestive biscuits and shortbread.

It seems like there are a lot of ingredients, but it is worth the effort. You can find tinned 100% pumpkin puree at Waitrose, via Ocado or in specialty shops. You can also make your own with this recipe.
