Japanese marinade gives a lovely taste and texture to grilled mackerel. Yellow tail, tuna or salmon are also good for this recipe. Easy, exotic!

This Sea Bass will melt in your mouth! Delicious, I had this at Blue Water Grill in New York and it was by far the best sea bass I've ever had in my life. This recipe is as close as I can get to tasting like the restaurants. They served it with pak choi and sticky rice on the side.

Found some very fresh big scallop this afternoon and thought of sliced them up and make a scallop sashimi. Then I thought can I do something different, here I came up something really good as appetizer. I had something very similar to this in a high-end Japanese restaurant once and it is not in their menu. I was taken by surprise when they offer me a mega big scallop. If you are love Japanese food and loves scallop, you will love this. So good and easy to make that I have to blog this right away.

Easy, delectable tuna coated with sesame seeds and quickly seared. This Japanese-inspired dish is served rare, so be sure your tuna is fresh and of good quality.

Japanese food tends to be low in fat, and these stylish sushi rolls are no exception. Now that the ingredients are available in supermarkets, it is easy to make them yourself. You must use sushi rice, which is sticky when cooked.

Teriyaki is a popular cooking style in Japan. It derives from teri, meaning ‘shine’, and yaki, which means ‘to grill’. The teriyaki marinade used to coat fish or meat is usually made with soy sauce, rice and sugar and can be bought ready-made from most supermarkets. It has an intense flavour, so you only need to use a little.

The simple technique of cooking salmon in a foil parcel captures all the succulent juices of the fish which, together with the teriyaki baste, makes a superb dressing for a mixed leaf and bean sprout salad. The fat in oily fish such as salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to boost heart health. Serve with warm, crusty bread.

This is a traditional soup served in Japan over New Year's. The mochi cakes, kelp, bonito flakes and naruto can be found in Japanese shops.
