Apple purée gives this sauce a rich thick texture that coats meat well. It has a sweet spicy flavour, excellent on chicken or pork. It may also be stored in sterile glass jars.

Now my granny taught me this. She cooks by her nose as do I... so I don't always pay attention to times.

This is a really straightforward traditional parev recipe that includes the classic ingredients of matzah and cinnamon. It is ideal for Seder night as it makes a large pudding, just the perfect dessert after a heavy meal. The apple juice and egg mixture ensures the pudding is light and fluffy.

This recipe is for making your own liqueur but be patient - it takes a few weeks before you can use it. You will need a wide neck jar for this too. You get the added bonus of some deliciously preserved boozy apricots too. Eat the fruit separately, warmed through and served with brandy snaps and ice cream.

My family loves to use raspberries or blackberries in this recipe. We love this vinegar on fresh, green salads - it makes a perfect vinaigrette. Prepare close to the time of use.

Not much to prepare with this one, you simply need a few bananas - one for each person you are serving, and a large bag of milk chocolate buttons. You could also perhaps try white chocolate buttons for an original twist!

I got this stollen recipe while I was Head Baker at the Dorchester. It's packed with dried fruit and filled with a marzipan surprise. It makes a perfect food gift at Christmas.

At the age of 57, I am ashamed to say I have never before made a Carrot Cake, the last cake I baked was over 30 years ago for my Step-Grandfather for his 70th Birthday). For some weeks now, I have been promising my Fiance John that I would bake him a carrot cake and finally today I have done it. I used some old recipe books that belonged to my late Mum Barbara and took a few hints from other suggestions and went with the flow.

With its sweet and citrusy flavour, this icy cool granita can be deceiving. Perfect for a summer barbecue, just make sure you make them alcohol-free if there are children around!

Mulled cranberry juice, like mulled wine, is a winter tradition in my home. This warm, comforting drink is easy to prepare and is great for Christmastime.

This is a spicy yet fruity marinade that's great for pork or chicken. After marinating, it is made into a glaze by thickening it on the hob.

This classic tipple is especially delicious on a hot, summer afternoon. The cucumber and mint make this drink - don't leave them out!

I found a good sangria recipe and headed to the off license to purchase the alcohol. In the queue, ahead of me, was a man who said he has been a bartender for 20 years now, and that my recipe needed a few touch-ups if I wanted to make it like the Pros. So, here is what he professed to me, muchos thanks to the other submitters for their delicious versions.
