I made this recipe up for my boyfriend who adores apples and pork. It's very easy and good served with roasted or baked potatoes and salad.

When our children were little my friend gave me this recipe which hides vegetables in the sauce; my children still love it as teenagers. It freezes very well so I am never without a quick meal to hand. It can be used on its own over pasta or with the addition of single cream makes a luxurious soup. A vegetarian version can be made without the bacon.

When I was in university, I created this delicious pasta dish using my favourite cheap ingredients: bacon, button mushrooms and garlic.

Very easy and tasty meal made with bacon and pine nuts, finished with fresh tarragon and lemon juice. My husband loves it!

There's an easy to find (and make) kids meal out there on the web called Cowboy Casserole, which uses sausages and beans... I decided to make it for Leo yesterday and also to make a slightly different version for myself. I altered the recipe and gave it a Spanish twist - hence the name. This is a good one for a cold day.

Inspired by the classic French dish, this version is lighter and less extravagant. It combines chunky sausages, bacon and beans with the traditional garlic and herb crust.

Perfect comfort food! This recipe serves 3-4 people depending on appetite. As the gammon is salty, I find that this requires no salt to be added, but may depending on taste buds.

Keep a package of dried Chinese egg noodles on hand to make this family favourite dish of noodles, bacon and courgettes at a moment's notice.

A true Irish dish which has been enjoyed for many a year by all Dublin people, soon to be enjoyed by your family over and over again! This is the bare bones traditional recipe but feel free to add garlic, a bay leaf or other fresh herbs for flavour. It's also good if you replace the water with cider.

An easy recipe for midweek that keeps pork chops tender and moist. The cooking juices can be used to make a delicious onion gravy for mash. Comfort food!

Really tasty and really easy to make. They take a bit of time but they are worth it. They don't last 5 minutes in this house.

Sausages fried then baked with gravy and mashed potatoes. You can choose your sausages. My grandmother always sliced them in half lengthways for the baking.

Best use I have ever found for left over ham! Be sure to save the ham's juices and chill them so you can remove the fat, leaving behind the delicious juices to flavour the soup stock.

This is a delicious recipe for ham and potato soup that a friend gave to me. It is very easy and the great thing about it is that you can add additional ingredients, more ham, potatoes, etc and it still turns out great.

A small gammon joint provides excellent value, and teamed with this rich, creamy madeira and fresh tarragon sauce it makes an extra special meal – the ideal alternative to a roast.

Was frying some cheap sausages when they sort of crumbled into sausagey breadcrumbs. I fried some other stuff, veg, flavourings, two eggs, into it. It turned out REALLY nice!
