A filling pasta dish, my take on the Italian carbonara.

This fresh chorizo is delicious, easy to make and way better than shop bought. I keep some in the freezer at all times for a quick and easy breakfast with scrambled eggs and cheese. Enjoy!

Why are the simplest dishes often the best? Here, a few fine ingredients lift this sandwich from the 'something on toast' category to a special treat. It makes a delightful, balanced light lunch when fresh asparagus is in season.

My aunt used to make these for me for lunch when I spent the summers with her.

In this dish, three favourite breakfast ingredients – bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes – are cooked on skewers with new potatoes and patty pan squash. The kebabs are served on toasted ciabatta with a refreshing citrus salad. Enjoy them for brunch at the weekend or as a mid-week supper.

King prawns can get rubbery when cooked. Grilling them on the barbecue is an excellent alternative. The bacon keeps them from drying out.

Sounds quite odd, but once tasted you will love it.

A wrap version of the sandwich that my kids seem to like better. I like them too! Sliced avocado is a nice addition.

I'm a very, VERY basic eater and I don't do veg (except for the mighty potato) and spices are usually out of the window too. Bonanza Pie is just a nice way to jumble what I like into one dish. Those who have tried it have all reported back positively.

A healthy way to enjoy the traditional British breakfast, grilled not fried, but with all the flavour of the original.

This tempting salad combines smoky ham, red onion, sweetcorn, canned black-eyed beans and lots of fresh coriander in a spicy soured cream dressing. For generous, meaty chunks of ham, buy pieces from the deli counter rather than thin pre-packed slices. Serve with tomato wedges and crusty fresh bread.

This colourful dish of prawns, chicken and spicy chorizo sausage looks and tastes spectacular, yet it is so easy to make using a time-saving, ready-made salsa for flavour. Serve with a green salad. Delicious!

If you ever get the craving or for a quick and easy fix for canapes at your next party!

In this colourful salad, the subtle flavour of spinach is enhanced by sweet melon and citrus, and Parma ham adds a savoury touch. You can prepare the dressing in advance, but only assemble the salad at the last moment to preserve as much vitamin C as possible. Serve with French or Italian bread as a light main dish.

This is an easy, delicious no-cook canape that works well with coppa or any other dry cured Italian ham.

Keep a package of dried Chinese egg noodles on hand to make this family favourite dish of noodles, bacon and courgettes at a moment's notice.
