Being that I'm from America I just had to add these fluffy pancakes. Also, since I can't find a maple syrup that I like, I took an old Apple Pop-Tart filling recipe and came up with this. Great for breakfast or even dessert!

A recipe I picked up from a book at school in food technology, although I altered it a bit for my own taste.

Traditional Australian recipe, handed down from my mother. Her recipe has coconut and ginger in it which makes these especially good. Originally, these delicious bikkies were lovingly baked and sent in care packages to our soldiers at war.

You can take advantage of nature's harvest for this dessert, and pick the blackberries where they grow wild in hedgerows.

This is a treat for breakfast that the entire family will enjoy. If you want it a touch healthier, simply omit the sugar and butter.

This combination is so good together and it's a great way to get your kids eating fruit. I make this for my daughter's lunch and she loves it.

Apple purée and cinnamon add a sweet and moist variation to the classic batter of milk, eggs and sugar. An unusual but delicious idea for kid's brunch or Christmas morning, especially if you substitute brioche for the bread.

These are a cross between pancakes and Welsh cakes. Wonderful for a special breakfast with the family at the weekend. Serve with jam, apple sauce or honey. Best of all, they're quick to make and low in fat!

This is a light starter or snack that gets its kick from jalapeno chillies. Finely chop the jalapenos and sprinkle them over the tortillas to taste.

I think French toast and bananas are a perfect pair. For a real American-style brunch, garnish with fresh strawberries, a sprinkle of icing sugar and drizzle of maple syrup.

The ultimate version of a peanut butter sandwich takes some good hearty bread packed with sesame and sunflower seeds, with sweet mashed banana as a perfect partner for the peanuts. Serve with crisp apple or fresh, juicy pineapple wedges for extra fruit value.

Really easy to make and can be still be made successfully without self raising flour as once tried it when I grabbed wrong jar of flour and realised too late although not as light and fluffy as orginal. May need to double recipe for hungry people.
