This is a light summery pasta salad that I love because the flavours go so well together. Lemon juice and a drizzle of good olive oil finish everything off nicely. It does taste best when chilled for 1 or 2 hours.

The flavours of cinnamon and cloves perk up this simple fruit salad, dressed with yoghurt and orange juice.

Berries are the utterly fresh flavour of summer. Tart, sweet and juicy, they come in a wide array of types, ranging from bright and delicate raspberries to fleshy strawberries, plump little blueberries and rich blackberries. The passion fruit is not a distinctive flavour in this dish, but instead it adds a fragrant tart edge.

This simple warm salad is full of crunchy textures, and handy to make when time is short. Serve with soured cream or Greek-style yoghurt to balance the hot chillies. Delicious!

Based on ‘fattoush’, the colourful, crunchy salad served throughout the Middle East, this version adds tuna fish for extra flavour and protein. Make sure you grill the pitta bread until really crisp to prevent it from going soggy when mixed with the other ingredients, and serve the salad as soon as possible after making.

Tempt your family with this healthy and filling pasta salad. Quick to prepare, it makes an ideal midweek supper and won't spoil if someone is late home. Tossing the pasta with lemon juice and white wine not only adds flavour but also means that the quantity of oil can be reduced, so saving on fat.

A really, truly gorgeous dried fruit salad that I serve in the evenings to share with my mum and sisters over a good movie. Of course you don't have to use organic food or rainforest honey... but sometimes these little touches help I think. Add the pine nuts however much or little you like them, about 2 tablespoons is good for me.

I cooked some farfalle and tossed with some sautéed vegetables. A simple and delicious side dish. It also keeps well and can be eaten cold as a pasta salad. Add more veggies as you wish!
