These are really delicious, especially when served with soured cream or the homemade sauce included in this recipe! They are great for Chinese New Year.

I love dumplings and have come up with this recipe using all of my favourite ingredients. The dumplings consist of pork, prawns, watercress, water chestnuts, and are absolutely delicious! Great for a party.

Chinese noodles are double cooked, first in water until al dente and then in a frying pan until crisp and brown. If you'd like to spice things up, replace the dark sesame oil with chilli oil.

A great way to use up the leftovers of a roast chicken, this is a staple in my house the day after my roast dinners!

One of my favourite dishes when I head back home; it combines hard-boiled eggs with the subtle flavour of anise and the deep brown hues of black tea and soy. The cracked patterns from the broken shells make these quite attractive! I eat these sliced in quarters and chilled as a side dish, starter or snack. Recipe courtesy of Mum.

You can easily get the ingredients in any Asian supermarket. But be careful, this is super spicy - which is the best way to eat Tom Yum! You can use chicken instead of fish if you prefer.

This is my easy version of plum sauce that is very tasty and keeps well in the refrigerator. Serve hot or chilled with spring rolls, pork or chicken.

The simple Oriental technique of stir-frying is perfect for preparing meals in a hurry. It is also a great healthy cooking method because it uses just a small amount of oil and cooks vegetables quickly so that most of their beneficial vitamins and minerals are preserved.

With its typical Chinese flavours – ginger, sesame, soy sauce and rice vinegar – this salad makes a delectable lunch or supper dish. It is very nutritious as most of the vegetables are raw. For the best effect, cut the pepper, carrot and spring onions about the same thickness as the noodles.

Delicious hot and sour soup does not need to be complicated. This is my quick and easy interpretation of the classic Chinese version - ready in about half an hour.

In this classic soup, paper-thin slices of beef are cooked with rice noodles in individual serving bowls into which hot beef stock, herbs and spices have been added. For a more authentic tasting pho - you will need to go to an Asian shop and buy pho stock cubes.

Punchy flavours and aromatic ingredients transform a light broth into an exotic dish that makes a substantial starter or a light meal. The ingredients are not fried before being simmered – making this a great low-fat soup – so select prime-quality lean steak which tastes excellent when poached.

A Vietnamese-style rice noodle bowl. The delicious sauce is made with garlic, mint, coriander, fish sauce, honey and lime juice.
