A lovely recipe that my mum-in-law gave me. We have enjoyed it as an alternative to traditional cranberry sauce.

I like to serve these crispy baked courgette chips as a starter with a little fresh lemon juice squeezed over the top. You could also serve with aïoli for dipping.

A variety of dried beans and lentils in a jar with a recipe attached - makes a great gift. Ask your butcher for a ham hock to make the soup with. It adds good flavour.

The old German classic Christmas and winter warmer. Boozy, spicy and indulgent. Similar to the British mulled wine. Great at a Christmas dinner party or for Bonfire Night as a winter warmer.

Fresh cranberries are cooked with orange zest, orange juice, lemon juice and brandy. This is a lovely holiday sauce to serve with roasts, and to put on the sandwiches you make with the leftovers!

Sugar syrup is brushed on cakes for added moisture and flavour. This one can be flavoured with brandy or rum. You can also use this syrup to sweeten cocktails or cold summer drinks.

I made this as an alternative to tomato sauce for a pizza topping, but I think it was even better the next day as a dip. The amount of ingredients I used only makes about 250ml, so you may want to double or triple the amounts if making for a party.

In just 5 minutes you can prepare a delicious and impressive no-cook canape with nothing more than two ingredients! Serve with slices of baguette and smoked salmon for a gourmet looking spread. This also is great to prepare one or several days in advance.

My sister made this recently for a Christmas fayre and it sold out in 5 minutes. In all fairness not much made it to the fayre as we ate most of it beforehand. I LOVE this recipe. It's definitely my favourite fudge recipe. It's perfect around Christmas too. Mum makes a big batch every year.

A chocolate and orange piece of heaven, great with strawberries and cake for dipping! For best results use a chocolate that is at least 70 percent cocoa.
