I make this for a Sunday pudding during autumn and winter, and vary the nuts and dried fruits that I use. Serve with custard or over vanilla ice cream.

This is a very old baked apple dumpling recipe but it is so easy. Serve hot or cold with custard or ice cream.

These are a lovely Halloween treat for kids. Oranges are hollwed out and carved to look like jack o'lanterns, then filled with a mixture of the fruit and ice cream. Our kids prefer chocolate chip mint ice cream but you can use any flavour. Try and find oranges with thick skins and keep the carving small to minimise the "ooze"!

Nothing beats a mug of this on a cold autumn day. A nice alternative to mulled wine.

As a little boy I grew up helping my mother make apple and other fruit pies. Sadly my mum is no longer with us, but her legendary apple tart lives on. I promise you will really enjoy this!

Caramel apples are taken down a rocky road by rolling in marshmallows and pecans. A dark chocolate drizzle finishes them off.

Enjoy this spicy pumpkin soup at Halloween. Carve the pumpkin shell into a spooky-looking lantern, and use the scooped-out flesh to make the soup.
