It's an astonishingly basic combination of ingredients that brings tantalizing flavour. Great on spare ribs or chicken.

Sometimes I throw in some fresh herbs from the garden too. It's perfect for dipping with crisps or veggies, and is much lower in fat than your typical shop-bought dip.

Fresh ripe tomatoes, chillies, onion, garlic and coriander with a splash of lime juice - all you need to make a delightfully refreshing salsa. Adjust the heat level by experimenting with the amount and type of chillies you use. Jalapeños will give the most heat! Use jarred if you can't find them fresh.

This is a lovely cool, refreshing Greek dip that I first tasted and fell in love with in the Greek Islands. It is lovely with hot toasted pitta bread and veggies or lamb kebabs! The key is strain the liquid from the cucumber very well so the dip stays creamy and not watery and to ALWAYS use thick, full fat greek yoghurt, any low fat versions won't cut it. Enjoy!

This cool, refreshing blend of natural yoghurt, chopped cucumber, dill and garlic is a perfect accompaniment to lamb or rice, or both! Mint may be used in place of the dill.

Classic pesto - made with basil, olive oil, pine nuts and Parmesan cheese. I like to add fresh chopped parsley to finish - a deviation from the traditional recipe - but feel free to omit this!

I had a lot of peppers and tomatoes from the garden and wanted something spicy for a snack.
