An excellent hearty and warming family meal. Can be mildly mouthwatering or hot as you dare. It can also be varied ever so slightly by trying different flavoured corn chips/tortilla chips. Try zingy lime or fragrant chilli varieties to suit your own tastes. I have seen chilli lasagna recipes before but always using pasta sheets which doesn't feel very Mexican to me. Serve with a crisp cooling salad dressed with mint, cucumber, yoghurt or soured cream.

My sister made this recently for a Christmas fayre and it sold out in 5 minutes. In all fairness not much made it to the fayre as we ate most of it beforehand. I LOVE this recipe. It's definitely my favourite fudge recipe. It's perfect around Christmas too. Mum makes a big batch every year.

Pumpkin Pie using fresh garden pumpkins. Best served barely warm, with freshly whipped cream on top of each serving. Use the remaining pumpkin puree in any recipe that calls for pumpkin.

Perfect for autumn when pumpkin is in season, this classic American recipe calls for fresh pumpkin rather than tinned. Sure to be a family favourite.

It seems like there are a lot of ingredients, but it is worth the effort. You can find tinned 100% pumpkin puree at Waitrose, via Ocado or in specialty shops. You can also make your own with this recipe.

This American classic is made with fresh pumpkin for a delicious flavour and wonderful texture. Serve it on a chilly autumn evening with whipped cream.

My husband never liked pumpkin pie until he tasted mine. I don't know what makes mine so different but here is the recipe. Caster sugar may be used in place of honey.

My friend Christine's mother invited me for Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh, and shared her pumpkin pie recipe with me. I adapted in for British ingredients, and it has become a staple of my repetoire. When I first started making it 20 years ago, it was almost unheard of in the UK, but now it seems a bit more common. I use the American "cups" measurement because I have a set of them -- British cooks can use half a standard mug.

This is my husband's favourite pumpkin pie. It's less spicy than traditional pumpkin pies so you can really taste the pumpkin flavour!
