You'd never guess it's tofu! Peanut and ginger flavours combine to create a wonderful Thai-flavoured dish that everyone will love. Serve over white rice.

Chinese noodles are double cooked, first in water until al dente and then in a frying pan until crisp and brown. If you'd like to spice things up, replace the dark sesame oil with chilli oil.

This is a really fast vegan meal that I often make midweek. Don't add any extra salt until you have tasted it. Use plenty of garlic and serve with rice.

It's so easy and tasty you'll make it for dinner tonight. If you make it for a party, I assure you everybody will love it! To add more colour, you could sautee pork with julienne red pepper and onion slices. That'll make this dish look a bit fancier.

This is my take on the spicy Chinese dish. It is easy to make and reduces to a nice, thick sauce. Serve over white rice.

This is the Malaysian version of Indian chicken curry, which uses coconut milk. It can be substituted with yoghurt or low-fat milk, but the taste won't be the same.

With its typical Chinese flavours – ginger, sesame, soy sauce and rice vinegar – this salad makes a delectable lunch or supper dish. It is very nutritious as most of the vegetables are raw. For the best effect, cut the pepper, carrot and spring onions about the same thickness as the noodles.

This is a dish from Singapore made with chicken wings, soy sauce, garlic and aromatic sesame oil; it's irresistible. If possible, cook in a clay pot. You can add sliced potatoes to make it a complete meal.

Better than a takeaway - this fragrant, rich and versatile sauce includes spices like coriander, cumin and turmeric, along with the requisite garlic and ginger, all stirred with a purée of tomatoes, chillies and yoghurt. Mix with your favourite meat or vegetables, and serve with basmati rice and naan.

A great vegetarian dish with a variety of veg. A great use for leftover rice.
