A Greek favourite that makes everyone think you are a master chef, yet it is sooo easy to make!! I taught a Greek friend how to make sticky toffee pud, and she taught me this fabulous recipe.

This gorgeous Greek casserole with beef and onions is perfect winter comfort food. Serve with lots of crusty bread to mop up the aromatic sauce. It is also typically made with rabbit, so feel free to substitute this if you wish.

This is a delicious recipe that I grew up on - a traditional Greek way to prepare lamb. Lamb and onion are browned in olive oil, then cooked with fresh green beans in a tomato sauce, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. I've added my own touch with some fresh mint.

My version of this classic Greek dish. My family love it and its great for a dinner party too. Make it the previous day for the best flavour and add/make the topping on the day of eating! Serve with crusty bread and a Greek or mixed salad. Tip - You can make this without pre-frying the aubergine, just layer the raw slices (no thicker than .5cm) as described and add 10 mins to final cooking time.

The only tricky part of this recipe is working with filo pastry, but once you get used to it - it's easy. Sometimes you get a batch of filo that rips and tears, so I always buy an extra just in case. I usually freeze these before baking. Just add a few minutes to the cooking time if you are cooking them from frozen. I have also doubled this recipe for large parties.

This is a delectable chicken dish from Kozani, a city and region in northern Greece. The prunes and onion lend sweetness, while the paprika offers a smoky flavour. Serve with steamed rice.

Inspired by my Greek mother-in-law's Kokkinisto. I decided to add clams for something different. Spoon over rice or vermicelli pasta, sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese, and serve with crusty bread and white wine.

This is simple and easy. It freezes well, too.

Fasolatha is the national Greek dish. It has nourished generations. Olive oil is one of the vital ingredients of this delicious dish so do not economise with it.

This is a recipe that my mum got from a colleague and would make regularly when I was young. Galaktoboureko is a traditional Greek dessert made with a custard in a crispy filo pastry shell. After all these years it is still a family favourite. I hope that everyone enjoys it as much as we do.

This is a wonderful and easy preparation that is a hearty meal for the whole family. I often serve it over rice or orzo (rice-shaped pasta), with a nice tomato and cucumber salad and good bread. A simple, fresh and delicious taste of the Greek Isles!

Fakes (pronounced 'Fah-kehs') is a staple in the Greek kitchen, and an especially filling and healthy meal. It is traditionally served with a drizzle of olive oil and lots of vinegar. Though the vinegar is of course optional, try it - it lifts the lentils and adds another dimension of flavour!

This is a lovely bread to add to a Mediterranean meze table. Use black or green olives and try it toasted, drizzled with a little olive oil and rubbed with roasted garlic.

In Greece, roast meat (lamb, beef, chicken) and potatoes is ubiquitous throughout the year. Upon my most recent visit to Athens, my aunt let me in on a secret that takes this traditional dish to another level. Instead of the usual lemon juice, she said, add the juice of one orange. I tried this upon my return home and it is absolutely delicious! It may be awhile before I go back to lemons -- and this dish is as delicious as it is simple.

This is a Greek cheesecake prepared with honey and unsalted mizithra or ricotta cheese. These cakes are usually prepared during the Easter festivities in the Cycladic islands, especially in Sifnos and Ios.
