Tomatoes, red onion and cucumbers are dressed with olive oil and finished with crumbled feta cheese. It's essential to serve this with good crusty bread.

A Greek favourite that makes everyone think you are a master chef, yet it is sooo easy to make!! I taught a Greek friend how to make sticky toffee pud, and she taught me this fabulous recipe.

This is a delicious recipe that I grew up on - a traditional Greek way to prepare lamb. Lamb and onion are browned in olive oil, then cooked with fresh green beans in a tomato sauce, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. I've added my own touch with some fresh mint.

This traditional Greek meze could not be easier to make, yet it always impresses guests! All you need is a block of feta and some crushed red chillies. This is also great made on the barbecue wrapped in foil. Serve with good crusty bread.

Feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and black olives are blended in this full-flavoured Greek inspired dip. Serve as part of a meze spread with good crusty bread. Also great on sandwiches!

This is a Greek recipe for prawn saganaki which is great as a starter or meze. It is a delicious dish that I'd only tried in restaurants, but when I tried to make it at home I found that I can make it just as well. Serve with nice crusty bread to mop up all the gorgeous sauce.

This zesty lemon and garlic marinade tenderises pork fillets beautifully before barbecuing. Slice thinly and serve in pitta with fresh tzatziki sauce.

For a new twist on a traditional Greek salad, throw together ripe plum tomatoes, crisp veggies, feta cheese and Kalamata olives, then drizzle with a nutty tahini dressing and serve with seeded crusty bread. Delicious!

A summer classic. My version calls for tomatoes, olives, feta, peppers, onions and cucumbers, all sliced, chopped and tossed with a great dressing - red wine vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice and herbs.

This is a sweet lemony syrup for pouring over cakes, which is typical of Greek cuisine. You can also use this as an alternative to maple syrup on pancakes, or to drizzle over ice cream. It's very sweet so a little goes a long way!

This is a quick, garlicky Mediterranean olive spread. Similar to the French tapenade, but without capers. Excellent served with good crusty bread.

Delicious and nutritious, roasted chickpeas make for a healthy snack. Roasted in the oven, these are a nice crunchy, high fibre alternative to nuts.

This is an easy recipe for pitta bread. Use your bread machine to help the dough rise easily, otherwise - cover and let it rise in a warm place.

These pitta breads are delicious served freshly baked, warm from the oven. They make a good accompaniment to soups, dips and pâtés or they can be left to cool, then split and filled: try goat’s cheese with roasted vegetables and red onion rings; grilled meat and vegetables; or hummus and a crunchy mixed salad.

This Greek yoghurt sauce made with cucumbers and fresh mint is a classic. Serve with kebabs, chips, crusty bread or warm pitta. You need to make this in advance but it still tastes really fresh.
