With its two key ingredients - rum and butter - this Christmas cake recipe ought to be a hit. This is less dense and more cake-like than many Christmas cake recipes. It has become a favourite of my friends and family at Christmas, and is delicious by itself, or covered with a layer of marzipan and icing.

This is melt in the mouth! This pork tenderloin soaks up the yummy juices as it cooks. Make sure to serve the juices on the side - it's amazing! This recipe is so simple, you will love it!

Most traditional recipes for crème caramel are made with a sugar-based caramel and a rich creamy custard. The fruity version here uses apple juice both for the caramel and in the custard, thus reducing the fat and sugar content and making it dairy free. Served with blackberries, or another seasonal fruit, this is a delicious treat for family or friends.

An authentic Scotch broth recipe using the authentic lamb, rather than beef which you often see today. You can use beef if you prefer, though I adore the lamb.

Green goddess dressing was popular in the 70s - with it's gorgeous mix of flavours, why not start a revival? This is perfect over crisp and mild lettuce leaves, like romaine or little gem.

These oven-baked beans are cooked slowly to create a richly flavoured vegetable dish – a revelation if you've only ever eaten the tinned variety. Serve alongside grilled pork chops, together with potatoes or bread.

Potato skins are usually deep-fried, but brushing with a mixture of olive oil and butter and then baking gives just as good a flavour and crisp texture. Here the potato skins are topped with a herby fromage frais, smoked salmon and dill filling, to make a really special and nutritious snack to enjoy with drinks.

This banana and toffee tart is well worth the wait and requires little actual prep time. I like to use hob nobs but digestives or shortbread work well too.

This is an Indian dish, similar to tandoori chicken but not as spicy. Marinate the chicken for at least 2 to 3 hours, giving the flavours a chance to meld - it will definitely be tastier.

Two day BBQ ribs, but worth the effort. Baked and marinated with a rub overnight, then barbecued with BBQ sauce.
