This is a recipe I adapted from my grandmother's. This warm and comforting soup is easy to make and perfect for a Sunday evening with crusty ciabatta.

These little Russian pancakes have a deliciously distinctive flavour. For a more luxurious starter, top with a spoonful of dip or sour cream.

The only tricky part of this recipe is working with filo pastry, but once you get used to it - it's easy. Sometimes you get a batch of filo that rips and tears, so I always buy an extra just in case. I usually freeze these before baking. Just add a few minutes to the cooking time if you are cooking them from frozen. I have also doubled this recipe for large parties.

A modern twist on the well-loved lemon meringue pie, this recipe uses lime and orange as well as lemon in the creamy filling for an exciting citrus flavour. Instead of shortcrust pastry, the case is made with crushed biscuit crumbs held together with egg white, rather than melted butter, to reduce the fat content.

This is a really simple brownie recipe. it has been tried and tested many a time and they certainly dont last very long in the cupboard. I always use chocolate chunks when i bake them however walnuts are just as good, it is just a family preference. these morish gooey chocolate treats are an all year all occasion must bake.

This is a great recipe for falafel. Everyone that I have made it for loves it. Delicious served with cucumber sauce in a pitta with tomatoes.

This is an impressive nibble or starter. A homemade pizza base is topped with sweet caramelised onions, figs and tangy goat cheese. Experiment with different herbs if desired.

one of my experiments. turned out pretty good so sharing it. i got the idea afrer eating an awful veg.lasagne in a cafe. it had something resembling sweet sour sauce in it...mah..i guarantee mine is healty and yummy! is light as i dont use any bechamel sauce and is also ideal if u dont like or are allergic to tomatoes. i made it with a big marrow but u can use different vegetables in it. i suggest aubergines and crougettes. you can use normal lasagne to make it egg-free

These spinach patties are usually deep-fried, but here they are grilled to give plenty of flavour with much less oil.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3 to make these puffs! Just measure, mix and bake. A few spoonfuls of Parmesan adds a big boost of flavour, so no one will ever guess you've cut back on the fat.

A recipe of my own idea. Its tasty quick and as well as serving it as a side to pasta dishes or with other antipasto. It's really nice in grilled chicken sandwiches!

This is a cheese pie that you can use as a basis for your own variations. You could put a thin layer of pickle on the pie base before filling. Another popular variation in our family is the addition of bacon. It's so simple, even I can manage it!
