This is a recipe I adapted from my grandmother's. This warm and comforting soup is easy to make and perfect for a Sunday evening with crusty ciabatta.

A traditional style very rich Italian ragu. My flatmate loves it and she's from Milan, so I'm fairly sure it's good! To be entirely traditional you should leave out the green pepper and use either garlic or onion, and not both. You could also use a mixture of beef and pork mince.

This is a very moist and light carrot muffin. It's not too sweet and not greasy like other carrot muffins/cakes. The white chocolate cream cheese icing adds just enough sweetness to round it off.

The only tricky part of this recipe is working with filo pastry, but once you get used to it - it's easy. Sometimes you get a batch of filo that rips and tears, so I always buy an extra just in case. I usually freeze these before baking. Just add a few minutes to the cooking time if you are cooking them from frozen. I have also doubled this recipe for large parties.

A little spicy chorizo goes a long way and adds a fabulous flavour to this colourful rice and vegetable dish. Camargue red rice is especially nutritious, with a higher fibre content even than brown rice, and a wonderful nutty texture.

The ultimate winter warmer. Chicken, white wine and a multitude of vegetables simmer until the vegetables are cooked to your liking. Use a half a chicken, a whole small chicken or chicken pieces.

This curry is quite quick and easy to make but the temperature of the flame is critical so is therefore best if you have a gas cooker.

A gorgeous, healthy and very tasty beetroot soup that's so simple to make. Beetroot, sautéed onions and garlic simmer in beef broth before being finished with a swirl of cream.

one of my experiments. turned out pretty good so sharing it. i got the idea afrer eating an awful veg.lasagne in a cafe. it had something resembling sweet sour sauce in it...mah..i guarantee mine is healty and yummy! is light as i dont use any bechamel sauce and is also ideal if u dont like or are allergic to tomatoes. i made it with a big marrow but u can use different vegetables in it. i suggest aubergines and crougettes. you can use normal lasagne to make it egg-free
