This hot and spicy dish is a great choice for an informal autumn or winter celebration such as Bonfire Night or Halloween. It's low in fat, quick to cook and can be prepared in advance.

I came up with this idea when I was looking for a sweet to serve at our BBQ party. Easy to make and can be made without alcohol for the kids. These can be prepared in advance to allow the alcohol to soak in. Very easy to make and delicious. The sugar coating on the donuts crystalises when cooked giving a crispy texture with a soft fluffy centre.

This is great for people on diets and saves you having to eat the burgers and sausages ... great with a mixed salad. Leave it as strips or cut up into smaller chunks after cooking. You can experiment with the marinade I sometimes add a splash of basalmic vinegar.

With global warming meaning that sometimes you can eat al fresco as early as Easter these days, I've come up with a way to enjoy your easter meal outdoors. I've not indicated measures for the marinade, as this can be modified to taste!

These are so easy to make and really remind me of summer. So often we only barbeque meats and fish, forgetting that fruit cooks on a bbq so nicely too. It works just as well with coconut if you've a nut allergy sufferer and nectarines and apricots also switch into the recipie easily. This is for those with a sweet tooth. The creme fraiche is good if you like something not quite so sweet, but the kids love it with ice cream.

Great for your vegetarian guest, or as a change to potatoes as an accompaniment for your favourite bbq'd meat and fish.

Spatchcocking is a method for opening small game or poultry birds out flat, so that they cook quickly and evenly and stay beautifully succulent. This can be made on a grill or a barbecue.

Went to a friend's wedding which had a BBQ and sampled the burgers. They were delicious, tried to recreate them after the event.

Its the simplest and easiest marinade that I discovered while at university. All you need is chicken, honey and Marmite - and don't worry those of you how don't like Marmite, once cooked it doesn't have marmite's distinct taste.
