Once they have been put together you can either fry them or steam them; both ways are delicious.

This is a simple recipe for Chinese barbecue pork buns. A wok equipped with a stainless steel steam plate (a plate with holes to allow steam to pass) is required to make these. You will also need to follow the recipe on this site for Hom Bao (Chinese steamed buns).

This delicate preparation for snapper is full of flavour and best done in a bamboo steamer. For such an easy preparation, the dish is quite impressive served in the steamer at a dinner party.

Serve this delectable dish with a fresh, warm loaf of crusty bread for mopping up all the delicious sauce. Use Spanish chorizo if you can't find the Portuguese chouriço.

Clams and Beans is a delicious seafood dish, trust me! The combination really works and the flavour is amazing. It's often cooked by fishermen along the North & East Spanish coastline. This recipe is starter and also it's perfect like side dish with a whole grilled fish.

This is an authentic recipe that originated in the 1800s with Italian fishermen who settled in San Francisco, California. Serve in large bowls with crusty sourdough bread on the side.

These Chinese dumplings, known as shao may or shiu may, have a chicken filling, which is lighter than the traditional pork mixture. Wonton wrappers, sold in Oriental food stores, can be used, or you can make your own pasta wrapping. Serve these dim sum as the starter for a multi-course Chinese meal.

These steamed dumplings made with wonton wrappers look especially appealing served in Chinese bamboo steamers. Provide your guests with cocktail sticks to help with dipping the dim sum and eating them.

Follow this recipe carefully and you will be rewarded with comforting, fluffy and tasty Chinese steamed buns. "Hom Bao" refers to any filled Chinese buns, but if you want to fill these with traditional barbecue pork filling before steaming, follow the recipe for Char Siu Bao, also on this site.

Shying away from the typical tomato or wine based steamed mussel recipe? This one features tequila and lime and it as easy as 1..2..3 to prepare! Serve straightaway with some crusty bread to soak up the juice.

This is a classic recipe that's simple, too. Most of the work is preparing the mussels; cooking takes very little time. Crusty bread is essential for dipping in the buttery wine sauce.

Tomatoes and garlic are essential to this dish, which is light, fresh and full of flavour. A perfect preparation for mussels if you like to avoid the cream and butter so prominent in many other recipes.

I had a pie in a cafe which had some of the above ingredients and liked it but felt it was a little heave and rich. I have made my own lighter version which is tasty enough to not need any salt, which is good for everyone, not just people with heart problems.

Pick good, fresh and alive mussels for this dish, the fresher the better. This recipe is simply amazing in flavour. You will love it. Serve with a slice of bread.

A luscious orangy steamed pudding. The tangy flavour of this dessert coupled with custard, makes a perfect ending to a summer dinner! The best part is that you can make the pudding in advance, freeze it for up to 2 months - then thaw and steam it for about 45 mins, until thoroughly hot!

I love thai food, so it comes from a very good thai restaurant I know in Edinburgh, for more information: http://www.thaiorchid.uk.com/thai-orchid-pad-thai.php

These tasty dumplings make a perfect starter or you can serve them as part of a dim sum feast. Serve with hoisin sauce, hot Chinese-style mustard and toasted sesame seeds.
