Everyone loves kebabs and these make a great family meal served with pitta bread and salad. Cook them on a barbecue in the summer.

A gorgeously rich and creamy dish with chicken breast fillets, fresh mushrooms and bacon. Though the chicken cooks in the oven for up to an hour, the dish requires little preparation and the pan sauce is quick to make. This is especially lovely when balance out with green veg and served with a wild rice blend.

In this dish, three favourite breakfast ingredients – bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes – are cooked on skewers with new potatoes and patty pan squash. The kebabs are served on toasted ciabatta with a refreshing citrus salad. Enjoy them for brunch at the weekend or as a mid-week supper.

Mushrooms and bacon make a lovely pair. It can't get simpler than this recipe. Use cocktail sticks to hold the bacon in place while cooking. I usually have to make a double batch of this party favourite to satisfy our guests.

King prawns can get rubbery when cooked. Grilling them on the barbecue is an excellent alternative. The bacon keeps them from drying out.

A wrap version of the sandwich that my kids seem to like better. I like them too! Sliced avocado is a nice addition.
