Fried bacon, onions and garlic stirred through a creamy sauce
These are just delicious! Even my boyfriend, who doesn't really like the tomato sauce on pizzas, loved these and just wanted more! We had them for lunch and were stuffed afterwards.
I am not suggesting for a minute that spaghetti carbonara can be a diet food. However, if you are a fan of this creamy, comforting pasta dish and balk at the calories, here's a method that shaves a few off by omitting butter and cream. It's still yummy though!
I had a few left over veggies which I didn't know what to do with, so I thought I would do this lovely warming soup! You can vary the ingredients to what you have in your cupboard.
Just three ingredients to make an ideal after-school snack, or serve with soup for a light supper. Kids can easily assemble the quick quesadillas but should get an adult's help popping them under the grill.
Great when the cupboards are bare or money's tight! And easy too! I use rice as the main thing, you can use anything really, pasta, spaghetti, meat, its entirely up to you, but here's how i made it with rice
A quick and easy chickpea salad made with leftover vegetables -- red cabbage, tomatoes and onions. I used a sun-dried tomato and tahini salad dressing, though any kind could be substituted.
This is a very easy French Toast recipe with a twist that my 9 year old son came up with.
Simple recipe with exotic flavours, but only a few ingredients. Lentils are simmered in a coconut curry sauce. Serve over rice.
A recipe we have been making in this family for years - still a favourite.
Recipe by my mums friend. So easy to do and tastes great on toast if you don't fancy a big meal
This curry is quite quick and easy to make but the temperature of the flame is critical so is therefore best if you have a gas cooker.
This is a cheap and tasty recipe. This recipe is for 2 people, but ingredients can be altered for more! A nice summer dish!
This is a very cheap, tasty and filling meal ,ideal for families! Ingredients can be adapted to make more and you won't have to make a roux so saves a lot of time and hassle!
This is such an easy tomato sauce to make and it freezes well too. Everyone that has tasted this has been totally in love with it and say it's better than any shop bought stuff. It's lovely with spaghetti or any kind of pasta. Added to your Bolognese sauce is gorgeous. You won't regret trying this and there are lots of different things to add. It's a cheap midweek meal and gorgeous.
One of my favourites - on a really cold winter's night there's nothing better than this pasta bake in my opinion. It's super easy and cheap to make, and something that all the family is sure to enjoy.
My own take on a classic Italian dish.
When your cupboards are bare, this is an easy way to make economical tinned tuna taste less like, well... tinned tuna. You can make these tuna cakes for dinner and enjoy leftovers for lunch. Try them in pitta bread for a fab sandwich filler.
The ultimate in comfort food! A heavenly, light cheesy cross between a pie and a souffle - perfect with freshly baked bread or a green salad. As it only takes half hour to make, it's a wonderful, quick supper.
A beautiful Italian tagliatelle carbonara. For beginners, you can combine the mixture in a mixing bowl instead of the pan to make extra sure that the eggs don't curdle.
