This mulled wine recipe couldn't be easier to do. Don't bother with expensive wine - a cheap red will work beautifully and no one will ever know the difference! Start with a little sugar, then add more to taste. This recipe can be easily doubled or trebled.

This is a spicy, sweet mulled wine perfect for Bonfire Night - or any chilly winter night. The combination of red and white wine is a delight.

This is my favourtite combination of spices for mulled wine or mulled cider. It has the perfect balance of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves for me. Gift wrapped - it makes a great little Christmas present for friends and neighbours.

The old German classic Christmas and winter warmer. Boozy, spicy and indulgent. Similar to the British mulled wine. Great at a Christmas dinner party or for Bonfire Night as a winter warmer.

Bisschopswijn, meaning 'bishop's wine', is the Dutch version of the German gluehwein, a hot drink for snowy holidays that makes you glow inside. Don't drink this if you have to drive tonight! Each household has its own variety, this is the one my Dutch neighbors used to make when I was a kid in Amsterdam, for Christmas and New Year's Eve.

A classic Scandinavian hot mulled wine served with raisins and almonds. This will surely take the bite off those cold winter nights. Flaming the brandy is optional.
