It's snowing outside as I type this so I've made a last minute recipe change to reflect the current climate - this simple dish can be thrown together really quickly when you get back from work and is ready in 2 hours. This really is a recipe that epitomises winter and the dumplings give it that extra stay indoors lift. Leeks are also well in season at the moment so let's take advantage of this classic vegetable and embrace the winter!
An extremely easy take on a sausage and bean stew with a rich smoky flavour. If you prefer, you could use a can of chopped tomatoes and a can of mixed beans in water instead of the baked beans but I actually find the baked beans are tastier, not to mention quicker!
This is an excellent one-pan recipe that incorporates well spiced Italian sausages with your favourite ale, peppers, onions and herbs. A lovely winter warmer. Use any sort of bangers you wish if you can't find Italian sausages.
A hearty sausage casserole with potatoes, red and green peppers and onions. It's the perfect winter midweek meal!
I use my cataplana to cook this dish, however, you can achieve the same results in a casserole dish. Wonderful and warming stew made with pork, chorizo, tomato and butter beans. Serve with crusty bread to mop up the juices.
