Deliciously dark, lightly spiced ginger cake is hard to resist! Enjoy a slice with a cup of tea or try it for pudding, with custard or a little cream.
This easy to make cake is wonderfully moist and smells like Christmas! Serve with custard, creme fraiche or whipped cream for a lovely pud.
This gingerbread is well-flavoured and incredibly moist. For a loaf with soft crusts, bake in the evening and allow the loaf to cool in the oven overnight. Enjoy for afternoon tea or elevenses.
A wonderfully moist gingerbread that's full of flavour. This gingerbread is spiced with ginger and cinnamon and sweetened with golden syrup. Enjoy on its own or with custard or a dollop of cream.
This is a Jamaican ginger cake. It attracted rave reviews at my latest tea party.
I am 'the one who can't cook' in my family, but I found this recipe in my mum's old food tech book, and it's brilliant (and fail-safe if it works for me). It's light and fluffy but really rich and warming at the same time (probably something to do with the spices). It's really good as an 'alternative' birthday cake, a cold-winter-evening-with-a-mug-of-hot-chocolate-and-a-good-book cake, or a cup-of-tea-and-a-chat cake. Enjoy...
