Bangers and mash muffins
My mother always used to tell me, "don't play with your food". Sadly that was the only piece of food advice I chose to ignore. Cooking should be fun and playful hence this delicious muffin recipe. Curiously they are suitable for vegetarians!
Red pottage
A very old fashioned thick soup made with beans, beetroot and tomatoes in a pressure cooker. It still does the trick as a hearty warming dish. Serve with bread and butter.
Orient express
This is a very quick, healthy and tasty midweek supper with chicken and vegetables in a slightly spicy sauce. Can be adapted with any meat or fish cooked the same way, or nice as a vegetable dish without any meat. Serve with jasmine rice or noodles. Ensure all stir fry ingredients are chopped, ready and set aside as this dish comes together fairly quickly.
Spicy sweet potato and butternut squash soup
A spicy warming winter soup, that is super simple and super tasty! Perfect to fight off those winter chills! This recipe will give you a medium spice level, obviously adding more or less chilli will give a hotter or milder dish depending on your taste.
Fresh and fab tomato and rocket sauce
Our favourite - and simplest - fresh sauce for pasta. They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and we came up with this scrumptious recipe 'specially for tomato season, after we discovered that planting all your tomatoes at the same time results in an awful lot of fresh tomatoes at once! This is a quick and easy way to use up a few, and it keeps brilliantly. Everyone we know is still going to get tomato chutney for Christmas this year, though. . .

Maggie Pannell
A feast of colourful vegetables makes a superb topping for a pizza-style ciabatta. The bread soaks up the aromatic roasting juices so that it is deliciously moist with a crunchy crust. If you want to boost your vegetable intake even more, serve it with a leafy herb salad.
Cheese and onion rarebit
Recipe by:
Norma MacMillan
There are many versions of Welsh rarebit (or rabbit). The one here is richly flavoured with mature Cheddar cheese and thickened with breadcrumbs to add texture, and is spooned over thinly sliced red onions before being grilled until golden and bubbling. A spinach, apple and celery salad is the perfect partner.
