This pie uses creme fraiche and cheese instead of a time consuming and tricky roux based sauce, making it so easy and quick to rustle up. It's also delicious!
Fisherman's pie topped with cheese for a wonderfully golden crisp mash topping.
A simple, tomato-based fish pie, topped with creamy mashed potato. I made this up on the spot when my Mum came round, she loved it so much she asked for the recipe, as I cook by eye there are no exact measurements here, just see how you feel and add or subtract as you wish!
A delicious fish pie with haddock and smoked cod, that is covered with mashed potatoes instead of pastry.
I just wanted to share this recipe as it is so reliably good and easy to prepare. Use mashed potato or puff pastry as a topping, this dish is as good if not better than any restaurant fish pie out there. If you love it, it is all my own doing and you are welcome, if you don't.. I got the recipe off the net.. Make sure one of your fish ingredients has been smoked. Just as tasty the day after cooking!
This recipe is ready in 30 minutes. I serve it warm with a salad on the side and eat the leftovers for lunch at the office the next day. In short, a winner!
These tartlets make a very pretty starter, perfect for a dinner party. Or serve them as a light lunch dish for 2, with a tomato, basil and cos lettuce salad and chunks of French bread.
This is a fantastic recipe for showcasing some of the best of what the sea has on offer. This fish pie is hearty, full of flavour and feeds a group of six generously. It tastes fabulous any time of year and is great for feeding a hungry lot.
Just because this is low calorie doesn't mean it's lacking in flavour or portion size. I've played around with this recipe and it'll deliver four man-sized portions and plenty of flavour for less than 500 calories per serving! I achieved most of this simply by substituting half of the potato for swede (the swede gives the mash a nice colour too) and using a low calorie cheese spread instead of Red Leicester or Cheddar.
A delicious and easy smoked salmon and leek tart, perfect for a light lunch or a dinner party starter.
