This is a famous family recipe. Three irresistible layers of coconut cake, made incredibly moist thanks to the buttermilk. The delicious icing is a cross between buttercream and cream cheese icing. This cake makes a wonderful birthday cake, or a base for a unique wedding cake.
You can use margarine, or a mixture of butter and margarine, for a slightly lighter texture to this cake.

plz can anyone tell me if the recipe is supposed to have 110g of butter as well as 110g of margarine as i am totally confused.would like to try out this cake tomorrow. - 14 Feb 2012
