Pizzelle are crisp Italian wafers with a special patterned iron. This particular recipe calls for chocolate and ground nuts, though basic pizzelle are most often flavoured with anise, vanilla or lemon.
I used pecans instead of the walnuts to make these chocolate pizzelles. By melting the butter in a large pan, the need for a bowl is eliminated! With or without the chocolate frosting glaze, these are good! - 16 Jun 2008 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
Tasty but they stuck quite a bit to the iron and it took a bit to get them to come off. - 23 Dec 2010 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
