This is a deliciously simple recipe. Pork chops are pan-seared, then cooked in a sweet and sour gravy, made from gravy mix, sugar, vinegar and garlic granules. Perfect served with mashed potatoes or rice.

    1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and brown the pork chops on both sides, 5 to 8 minutes per side.
    2. Whisk together the water, gravy mix, dark brown soft sugar, vinegar and garlic granules in a bowl until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Pour the gravy mixture over the browned pork chops. Cover the frying pan, reduce heat to low and simmer until the chops are tender, about 30 minutes.

This was a good recipe that I will use again. Since the recipe called for vinegar, I used Apple cider vinegar. I also love Garlic so i used fresh garlic not power. The sauce was great over mash potatos and stuffing.  -  14 Feb 2010  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

I was wondering what to do with pork chops that I hadn't already done. This was a great recipe. I used a mushroom gravy and added fresh mushrooms. I also paired it with with mashed potatoes and roasted cabbage. It was delicious!  -  15 Feb 2010  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
