Chocolate rum balls

Rich chocolaty rum flavoured balls. These are rolled in cocoa, but chocolate sprinkles or shavings also work a treat. To roll into balls, try using a melon baller to expedite the process substantially.

Ingredients
Makes: 24 balls
- 175g plain chocolate, chopped
- 100g caster sugar
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup or golden syrup
- 125ml rum
- 150g chopped walnuts
- 200g crushed vanilla biscuits
- 2 tablespoons cocoa

- Melt chocolate over low heat and stir in sugar and syrup.
- Blend in the rum add chopped nuts, mix well, then allow to cool a little. Then add crushed biscuits and mix well with a wooden spoon.
- Chill in fridge until hard enough to roll mixture into balls.
- Roll mixture into small balls and dust with cocoa, or even chocolate shavings, for decoration.

I originally found this recipe on your website but is no longer there, However I did make this and although taking longer than the specified time, I found this very nice and will make more, - 14 Jan 2017
