This banana bread is virtually mess free, no mixer required, just a bowl and spoon... My favorite kind of baking! You can easily make this banana bread on a lazy weekend morning with hardly any effort, or washing up!
Something else. I found the oven temp a bit high, I have a fan oven (but always use the conventional oven setting). I cooked it on 160 instead and it was perfect. - 17 Dec 2010

I've tried lots of banana bread recipes-I'm one of those people that can only eat bananas when they are just turned yellow from green, any longer and they smell and taste horrible to me, so consequently I always have bananas too ripe to eat. I've faffed around many times with the 2 bowl variations, but this was a piece of cake, pardon the pun!! My 8 yr old decided she wanted to make it, so off she started with this recipe, and it turned out FAB!!! I reduced the oven temp to 160 cos mines a fan, and I covered it halfway in to stop it going too brown. We couldn't wait for it to cool down, I cut it when it came out of the tin (yes I know....butchered slices), but my husband said it was the best banana bread he'd ever tasted!!!! My little girl did an impression of a peacock in full bloom!!! Needless to say, it's all gone now, and that's a first cos the usual recipe loses its appeal after 2/3days.
