2 large green apples, peeled and sliced
165g plain flour
150g caster sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons buttermilk
150g butter, melted
cinnamon for sprinkling
extra sugar for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, butter and buttermilk.
Pour batter into a broad pie dish and bake for 8 minutes.
Remove dish from oven and arrange sliced apples into the semi-cooked cake batter. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
