Chocolate Easter eggs
Have some fun just before Easter and make your own chocolate eggs. You will need chocolate egg moulds to make this recipe. For variation, try dark, milk or white chocolate. You can make them solid, or put sweets inside the eggs. For the finishing touch, wrap in coloured foil.
Ingredients
Makes: 10 eggs, depending on size
- 250g good quality dark or milk chocolate
- Easter egg moulds (any size)
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
- 150g icing sugar, sifted
- food colouring

- Melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.
- Paint a thin layer of chocolate inside the egg moulds, making sure it meets the edges of the mould. Chill for 5 minutes or until the chocolate is firm. Spread another even layer of chocolate over the first layer. Chill for another 5 minutes or until firm.
- Gently ease the mould away from the chocolate. Join the chocolate halves together with a little melted chocolate.
- Mix together the icing sugar and egg whites. Add food colouring as desired. Decorate the eggs.

lovely recipie, but where do you get the Egg moulds from? - 30 Mar 2011
I made these with my neices so they could give it to their mum for Easter - they looked like the second picture on here, then we decorated them with yellow icing and silver balls. Turned out great! Nice & simple, thanks. - 16 Apr 2011
