About this recipe: A super-simple, yet flavour-packed Italian style pasta dish. Penne is tossed with pancetta and tomato sauce. Serve with fresh crusty bread, if desired.


Serves: 4 

  • 250g pancetta, chopped
  • 250g passata
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch chilli powder
  • 1 dessertspoon olive oil
  • 1 handful fresh parsley, chopped
  • 375g dry penne pasta

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta as per packet's instructions. Drain.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large frying an until hot, then saute the garlic, parsley and chilli powder.
  3. Stir in the pancetta and passata. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes. Add the cooked pasta, stir and serve.


If pancetta is unavailable, use streaky bacon instead.
