    About this recipe: Potatoes are sliced into fries, coated in cornflour, deep-fried and then tossed in a soy sauce, tomato ketchup and vinegar mix. A tasty alternative to regular chips!

    Ingredients
    Makes: 3 

    • 1 tablespoon vinegar
    • 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 2-3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
    • 4-5 potatoes, washed, cut into fries and patted dry
    • 5-6 tablespoons cornflour
    • oil for deep frying
    • salt to taste

    Method

    1. Sprinkle cornflour liberally over the fries. Mix well to coat the fries. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
    2. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or deep-fat fryer until hot. Deep fry the fries until crisp and golden.
    3. In a heated saucepan, add the vinegar, soy sauce, tomato ketchup and salt. Stir and cook for 30 seconds.
    4. Add the fries, mix well and serve immediately.
