Creole chicken in the slow cooker

The stewed tomatoes and chillies give this easy and tasty Creole chicken recipe it's kick, along with spices and veggies. Just put all ingredients into the slow cooker and let it simmer all day.

Don't be goin and puttin mushrooms in this recipe. First off, I don't like 'em. I had a bad experience with some mushroom tea and ain't liked the little veg since. Now, instead of sayin" to use any ol' cajun seasonin' insist on Tony Chachere's cajun seasonin'. If'n you like your stuff hot-n-spicy a dash or 20 of Tobasco sauce'll light your fires nice'n good. Enjoy'n this little dish'd be plum good with good ol' fashioned corn bread. Look that up 'cause I'm gonna post it (eventually) and you gotta darn tootin good meal. Givin this dish an American label is too broad though. No siree Bob. This is pure N'awlins cajun stuff here. Btw, if'n you're ever in N'awlins, be christian neighborly and drop by the Acme Oyster House. You won't be dissapointed. I'm givin' ya 4 stars on account of I don't much like mushrooms. Truely, I don't know any cajuns that do. Thank ya kindly for sharin this delicious recipe.

Used different ingredients. Made my own cajun seasoning using: 2 tsps garlic powder, 2 tsps dried oregano, 2 tsps dried basil, 2 tsps dried thyme, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 tsps paprika, 2 tsps salt.

ok add 2 teaspoons of paprika and 2 of cajun seasoning, use 2 cans of chopped tomatoes. Add juice of 1 lemon 30 mins before serving and add some hot sauce wqhen you plate it up.

Not impressed with this. Very bland, added potatoes and carrots and herbs, didn`t help, sadly won`t try this again.

Not too impressed with this one. sauce too tomatoey and pretty tasteless. just tasted of chilli spices. wouldn't make it again I'm afraid

Was a bit watery with not a lot of flavour. Not one I would choose to do again with out a lot of adjustments

Used a casserole dish as I don't actually own a slow cooker. Medium/low heat for 1.5 hours did the trick! Substituted the mushrooms for an extra pepper and some carrots. Added an extra green chili cause I like the heat. Served it with some brown rice. Delish!
