Pork with Oyster Sauce

    A delicious Chinese dish that takes less than 40 minutes to make. Pork is stir-fried with garlic, spring onions and served in an oyster sauce. Perfect served over freshly cooked rice.

    Serves: 3 

    • Marinade
    • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce or 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
    • 1-2 tablespoons cornflour mixed in 1 tablespoon water
    • 450g pork, cut into strips
    • 1 tablespoon oil
    • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
    • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
    • 4-5 spring onions, cut into 2.5cm pieces
    • Sauce
    • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 2 teaspoons sugar
    • 2 tablespoons water

    1. Make the marinade by mixing together the sugar, salt, soy sauce and cornflour slurry. Mix in the pork, let marinate for 15 minutes.
    2. Heat a frying pan over high-heat and fry the garlic in the oil until brown and aromatic. Add the pork, stir until cooked, then add the Shaoxing wine and spring onions.
    3. Add the oyster sauce, sugar and water and stir until well incorporated. Serve.


    Shaoxing wine can be purchased in Chinese/Oriental speciality stores.
